Cable Chute for Tidal Pioneer

Morek Engineers were tasked with designing a cable chute and quadrant for tide energy operators Sustainable Marine, to be installed on their newly acquired work boat, Tidal Pioneer. The chute was required to overboard the power cable for Sustainable Marine’s PLAT-1 tidal energy platform, to be installed in Grand Passage, Nova Scotia. Due to deck constraints, the chute was designed to be attached to the top of one of the bow pushers. The work package included a 3D CAD model of the chute, and fabrication drawings for the chute and quadrant, all of which were required within a tight time frame.
