About Morek
Formed in 2019, Morek (maritime in Cornish) is a specialist technical service provider to the offshore energy market. We offer high end technical skills to a wide range of customers from all walks of product and project development.
Morek Staff
Bob Colclough
Director and Naval Architect
As former Head of Engineering for UK marine projects outfit James Fisher Marine Services, Bob brings a wealth of engineering experience in the marine renewable and offshore construction industries to Morek.
As a charted Naval Architect Bob holds a strong engineering skill set which combines a comprehensive theoretical background in marine hydrodynamics and hydro-statics, with hands-on experience of the practical issues of installation and operation in the marine environment.
Bob is fully conversant with the detailed technical aspects of project engineering including on and offshore heavy lift, seafastening, mooring design and installation, ship structures, cable laying and Dynamic Positioning operations.
Jovie Stone
Lead Project Engineer
Jovie is Morek’s lead project engineer, he specialises in engineering analysis to support the offshore energy industry. Jovie brings both formal training and a broad offshore experience to the team, he is as happy offshore supervising a 200-tonne heavy lift as analysing the dynamics of a complex offshore systems model.
He has a wide range of analysis capabilities, including finite element analysis, marine dynamics and hydrodynamic diffraction analysis. As a project engineer, he has provided heavy lift planning, risk assessment, marine operations supervision on many offshore construction campaigns.
This comprehensive understanding of simulation combined with practical project engineering experience result in a well balanced approach to marine engineering challenges.
Jovie was shortlisted for the RenewableUK award “Young Renewable Energy Professional” in 2016.
